I've noticed white specks (missing toner) across my sheets. I printed out 50% of each color and it is in each color. Any idea what is causing this. The only thing recent is we did do developer changes. specks.jpg
Re: White specks across sheet in all colors - C5501
White spots (starry night) covering the whole page.
Three possible causes (or combination):
1) Environmental issues such as low humidity or high altitude.
2) Paper condition such as (low) moisture in the paper.
3) Continuous low coverage printing
Due to these factor(s) the second transfer current is not matched with the paper.
Then the starry night sympton will occur.
Three possible solutions:
1) Adjust the 2nd transfer currect setting (2nd transfer offset (back)) by 10 steps at a time until acceptable output can be obtained.
2) Use a new ream of paper or paper with a higher humidity level.
3) Advice to install a humidification device to improve humidity conditions.
Sometimes lowering the fusing tempirature can improve or minimize this issue as the fusing heat will change (lower) the humidity levels (properties) of or in the paper.
This however only when the problem occurs on the second side.
