NEC 3640D sending faxes as PC email instead of Data

I have a NEC 3640D that receives faxes fine but will not send a fax. After some investigation, I found that the machine had been previously set to send a fax as PC email and when I try to change it in service mode the copier simply beeps at me and will not allow me to change it to data. Anyone have any ideas why I would not be able to change this setting? Thanks

I figured it out. You do not change it in service mode but instead log in as administrator, go to Fax, TX, select Fax, then select G3. The machine still shows TX as PC email (in service mode) but I am now able to send faxes.
