Got a C452 IH board with a 3B02 error, if replaced with a C451 board would it work properly?Secondly If I attempt repairing the board, what should I look out for on the faulty board?

Looks like they are not listed as compatible.... even the C650 has a differnt part...
most of the components in the C451 and C452 are similar but not all.
Also this is US parts, so please check if you in a different country (some use 200V boards)
