C284 /224

Trying to upgrade the firmware, when looking at the diagram it says take out the screw lift up the plate and insert the usb stick into the slot beside the cable, but when you lift the plate the slot is above it, is the cable in the wrong position ? machine straight out a box and working. any feedback would be welcome. Been trying the tech website bloody hopeless

The slot that is uncovered when you lift the plate is the only slot that can take a firmware update. If there is anything in this port, remove it and plug it into any open slot (other that one designated as FAX 1 or 2). EMujo

Is it definetly a C224/224 and not a C224e/284e?...im pretty sure on the E series the slot is above the cable and on the original 224/284 the slot is beside?
