I fought this issue with the Creos as well. We tried a cable, a CIC Card which is the card inside the Creo that the cable connects to. We also tried 2 IMCB at the recommendations of SSD.

The problem disappeared but to this day im not sure what really resolved it. There were more than one tech working on this issue.

Anyway, you swapped the Fiery, is it still working?

If the engine is the new type (red dot write units and revised transfer belt) then you need to load the fusion board patch on the creo. Doesn't seem to be a problem on older c6500 if the the resistor has been removed.

I'll check into this. Your are the man!!!

ps What resistor? New style transfer unit? In regards to the transfer unit are you talking about the A03UR7A400 INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER

Well, the image corruption appeared again. It seems that not the Fiery is the issue. The initial Fiery was put on other 6500 it is working properly. The weird prints appear only when machine runs out of memory, I'm thinking on a software problem.

R144 should be removed from the Image processing board. The intermediate transfer unit was revised. The drive collar on the back is different and the static roller next to the drive roller is now a roller and the plate on the side now has two roller shafts rather than metal grooves.

Is this an old machine? The memory control board was revised not long after the machine was released maybe you have an old one. If so you will not be able to upgrade firmware past 15. There are few techincal notices about memory problems with IC-408. Mainly to do with running out.

              1.02
              2.0

Also, my versions are dumbed down.
Firmware refers to the INTERNAL control of the MFP. This allows specific features and options to function properly.

The v1.1 refers to the FIERY system software.
The IC-408 is a Fiery, referred to as the Embedded. v1.1
The IC-305 is also a Fiery, but a more pwerful version and is an external server. v1.1a

The negative Image is caused by some machines getting out with bad colur boards in them. I had a brand new install not 2 weeks ago that required this part replaced.

Check with Japan or contact the Canadain Head Office and they will direct you to the actual solution.

i have had this issue on three machines, tried reseating and replacing fiery cables but no luck. finally we fixed them replacing the image processing board IPB for an updated board. you have to open a ticket with tech support and then use that ticket number to order it online and they send it to you (FOC) free of charge.
