    [Misc] reset

Was wondering if anyone knows of a way to reset the image transfer belt on a c554. The transfer belt is still good and I would like to reset it to get the most out of it. Can it be pico-fused? Or how can I reset it? Thank you all in advance.

    Re: reset

These supposedly came from the factory with the life settings at "run to failure". You may have to go into service mode and check your life stop settings and message display settings, but once set correctly, you should be able to run all the consumables until failure. I would advise against resetting the counters as auto CA adjustments are made based on the page counts, or revolutions etc...Setting the counter back to 0 with an old unit might cause some additional headaches. You can turn off "life display" settings in system 2 of the service mode. or just clear the life counter using the "new release" feature in service mode....The latter could affect copy quality...
