c550 c650 Toner compatibility with OCE

Just curious if anyone tried any of the OCE CM4521, CM5520 and/or CM6520 in a c451 c550 or c650 (excluding mix-matching the 451 model black toners with the higher models due to incompatibility).

Are the chips the same, but do the cartridges have a tab that needs to be broken off like with the old 8031s??

      Thanks for the info

I was 99.9% sure the toner was the same. One of my suppliers is trying to dump some surplus OCE stuff on me at a bargain.

I really need to know if the chips are the same.
Even if the cartridges are physically different, I have screw drivers, duct tape, funnels and even a Dremel if necessary.

We had one Oce' in the field for a while and we used Konica Minolta toner with an Oce' chip. No tabs to break off...

So...being that you guys were using a Oce chip, can I assume that you were forced to change the chip?

I just wanted to take a second and update this.

The toners are the same if you swap the head of the toner unit (front plastic part--3 screws)
As I suspected you must use a Konica chip (even from an empty cartridge).
If you use a chip from an empty cartridge, the machine will still run; however, it will always report that the cartridge is almost empty.
