    i have a c550 ghosting a small smudge mark after text just on b/w copys..i have replaced iu ,transfer belt was replaced no 2 long ago, this does seem a intermitant problem can anyone help please

    I am going to assume that this is doing it on both prints and copies. If you haven't try cleaning the print heads. I had one doing the same thing. Cleaning the print heads did the trick for me.

      i have had a smudgey mark after text on the 2nd side of a page. check the pdf at the address below. a quick check is to put some sticky tape just after the transfer roller, if your problem goes away you need the mod.

        thanks dogsbody did mod guide and replaced transfer roller,been ok since

          Yep that is the cure !!

          If you do not have the guide mylar then electrical tape may get you out of a hole !!

            in the last week i had a C450 (not 451) do this to me. Regular sticky tape did the trick till i put a real one on.
