    In which network environment?
    Inside or externally?

At least Admin- and Device Mailadress (Admin settings) and SMTP Server Adress (Email settings).

Certainly. I meant, where's the mailserver.
In a local domain using Exchange oder externally like gmail or something.

          Email Scanning

Lots of ways to do this. I would start by treating the machine like an Outlook Mail client.

You will then have to deal with host resolution, authentication, relay, and firewall issues.

You can even setup a PC with the copier's IP address on the same drop using an Outlook Express mail client. If this outlook client works, then there is no reason the copier won't. Make sure the customer's tech admin is aware of this, and if it doesn't work outlook gives you better detail of why the configuration failed.

          Hope to have helped.

            scan to email

If the email server is off the premises, just make sure that the it accepts mail from your copier's IP address.
