The machine is on. The button on the side of the keyboard panel is lit....the machine does nothing. You can hear it warming up. Anyone know what it is?

If you can print, the display backlighting driver board died. If not, likely you will be replacing the main board on back with NVram pcb due to corrupt NVram. Luckily, I have been able to pull from used machines cheaper than going to board repair. One cause can be customer power cycling inside door switch too quickly, so pass that along. We had two c353's die in a week from that. Customer was just "waking it up??!!"
Thanks for your input. It's one of these machines in a backroom of a house. Probably poor power. There really is no where to start. I doubted it was the keyboard. How old is this machine?

C252 panel is the first thing to die on more than 10 machines i had in the field. No more available panels, so no there is a good reason to upgrade those machines after 10 years of service.
But a dead panel would just not respond to touch back lighting normally works.
A suggested try to print from it.
You should find plenty of end of contract machines at some of the dealers just sitting there.
