we have this machine that started giving bad copy quality problems. extremly light copies or blank copies,internal prints and from the computer were great. finally traced it down to mfb3. we only had a 2510f to get the board from. it worked great for a day, then the same problem returned. all the research i did indicated that these were in fact the same boards. now i am wondering if there something else that i have to do. any help would be appreciated. thanks,rb

The boards are the same. If I had changed them I would rewrite the program on the card, I always do, just like putting fresh drivers in a printer. You could have a bad card, rewrite two of them and see if one works better than the other.

So just scanned documents are of poor print? Has the machine been bumped recently? How are the optics? CCD? The service manual only goes so far. A new program is a good idea.
