Look on the panel, the machine would indicate that there is an A3(or inch size) original on the glass if the DF is closed.

I got this a couple of times on C654 machines. There is 2 original length detection sensors in the scanner cavity. They work on that table 1 and tabel 2 settings under system 1 -> original size detection settings.

Only on of them work depending on the setting for table 1 or 2. It needs to be on table 1 for metric.
It depends on your marketing area setting.
Not sure but i thing some areas only ship out with one sensor.

The way i fixed it was to swap the position of the 2 sensors and then to toggle the setting from table 1 to table 2 and then back to table 1 again.

I am not sure if its a faulty sensor or just a bug. I did use the sensor check and the sensor in that position was not working ok.
but i cant see how it could be the sensor itself.

    Hope this helps you.
    Whatever

        Don't do anything mentioned above!!!
Clean the platen glass with windex and a lint free cloth. The detection sensors are super sensitive!
I have had about a dozen of these messages.....just cleaned the glass....

If you wipe your ass.......you can wipe the glass
Everyone has the right to be stupid. Some people just abuse this privelage more than others
