    c552ds doc feeder compatibility

    This has been thrown in my lap last minute this morning, hoping for a little help.

    I have a c552ds with a bad board on the doc feeder. I have a c552 (non ds) that I can borrow the doc-feeder from while waiting for parts. What do I need to do to make the non-ds doc feeder work on a DS machine. Service manual shows dsc2 on off option but before I yank this doc feeder and drive across town to swap them, I want to check with you folks and see if there's anything I'm missing.

      I don't think the 2 adfs are interchangeable, the DS is looking for a specific firmware for the DS feeder. If you accidently put the non DS firmware on the mfp you would get an error on startup. Emujo

          Firmwares for the ADF are different, so the swap won't work. Good to know, I'd rather tell the customer that then show up and disappoint them.

          I couldn't get a straight answer out of pro-tech, they basically told me to try it and let them know what happens..... don't know why I even bother with them sometimes.
