    [Error Code] C-2557 on a C554e

    Hi ....

    Ongoing problems with error code C-2557 on a C554e.
    We have changed the K dev unit and K toner, but still got the code ( intermittantly )
    Vacuumed out the hopper and visually checked all the workings within it.
    We are taking a motor and sensor off of a C224e today to take up for testing.

    Anyone experienced this on the C554e?

      There is a mod bulletin for the c224e regarding this issue. I believe it will be the same for 554. You need to change the bushing.

          We had this problem on a 224e. Forced toner, code went for a day, then replaced the dev, code went for a week. Turns out a plug was loose. If you remove the output tray, there is a sensor on the black dev, check it.
          Everything that has a beginning, has an end.....

              I had a new install of a c454e do this. After trying everything for 3 weeks I found a bulletin on the issue I was having. The paddle inside the sub hopper is not moving correctly against the sensor so the unit does not add toner to dev unit. There are cut-in serial numbers for the other models but not the c454e series. I ordered the sub hopper assembly and have not heard from them in 2 weeks.

              I am not logged in but search for c255x in the bulletins if you have access to KM.
              And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

                  Replace the hopper assy. Have never had a developer unit go bad on one of these. Its always the dang hopper.

                      modified bushing available from minolta original one seized up in hopper and threw up code deepending on colour

                          We have replaced the motor and p.i sensor for K. So far, so good.
