    [Error Code] M2535dn - C3100 followed by 3200

    Hi,

Noisy scanner, error C3100, when arriving onsite the scanner locker position is unlock.
Realigned the scanner and reduced the noise, but the noise is still there intermittently, scanner, scanner motor and scanner belt don't drive smoothly.

It gets worse; when turning the machine on the exposure lamp turns on and 20 sec later turns off, but then the error 3200 and "turn machine off and on" message pops up. It looks like the main PWB is faulty too.

Anyone has experienced such an issues or has any ideas please?

    Thanks in Advance!

Since you realign scanner, i am guessing you cleaned the metal shaft with alcohol and lube with triflow oil or some other light weight oil. The symptoms described would be caused by the shaft being sticky and they do get very sticky. remove the belt from the scan motor and turn the motor by hand, if it spins rough its bad.
IF the above checks out, then the scan pcb would be your next replacement. the scan pcb is separate from the main pbc.
After you clean the shaft, run your fingers along it to make sure if runs smooth.
