    Kyocera copier scan to mac.

Hi Everyone just wondering how to SMB-FTP scan to a Mac computer. I can scan to a PC but not to mac without pinpoint scan.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Long story short, Apple's implementation of SMB SUCKS!

SMBUp provides a workable alternative with a good implementation of SAMBA!

        Scan to email...
But seriously, I turn on the hidden FTP service in the mac using Mountain tweaks (Apps | Developer Fredrik Wiker - Mountain Tweaks and Lion Tweaks). Put a folder called scans on the desktop, and put desktop/scans in the path. Biggest problem I've had is resolving the hostname of the mac, I usually have to use the IP and show the customer how to change it when the Mac's ip changes.

Hard to tell, but I sense a little sarcasm here.

Setting up scan to SMB for Macs can be difficult as the steps needed may vary from one OS version to the other.

I myself don't try to resolve networking issues on a message board unless it's a specific issue.

The internet is flush with knowledge on how to do this for those who want to invest the time and effort to learn.

qbert replied about as well as anyone could. There wasn't much need to reply beyond that.

Ignore SMB completely. Do scan to ftp as it works across all operating systems. Install FileZilla FTP server on the client PC and just set up a share. Really easy, just remember to allow FileZilla though Windows firewall (not an issue on Mac).
