[Error Code] Cannot connect to authentication server, 420i,3050ci

I have a 420i that I cannot get into the system menus. We also have a ta 3050ci that we cannot access. I believe someone has changed the machine admin. User name and or password. Does anyone know how to reset this? The hotline does not know. When you try to access anything on the system menu from the machine panel , you get the message cannot connect to authentication server, check the connection status with the server. I can access the Web page and manipulate things from there but cannot import address book with net viewer. Thanks.

You might have to run sim 21 to reset to factory settings

        Donnie,
Sounds like someone has turned authentication on and the machine is trying to connect to the server. Find the authentication settings and turn authentication off completely.

I have authentication turned off under advanced tab on web page. Is there somewhere else it should be set? Thanks.

You might want to check that the control panel is set to unlock. Even if you have turned off authentication if the control panel is set to lock it will still look for the authentication server. Just a thought.

On the basic tab of the machine's webpage go to device security and then click on "General", it is at the top of the page.
I would also make sure that LDAP is off [advanced tab] and under authentication that obtain network user property is off. These are the only areas that I can think of that would look for an authentication server.

ldap is off. Turning control panel lock on/off makes no difference. Thanks for the replies. I have worked around this problem on my 420i. The 3550 is another techs issue. I will post the solution when its fixed. Thanks.
