    Kyocera 6026 scan to email error

    This was set up to scan to email and was working fine for months but now when we select any name from the scanner address book on the machine and press ok I get the message


    unable to connect to nw

    ive checked the settings and tested the smtp server for responses and everything looks fine, am I missing something?

    check DNS settings and change the SMTP from a name to the IP address and see if that clears it up.

      If that's all you've done, it's safe to assume you've missed a lot. If you're hoping that we assume you know network troubleshooting, we can't really begin to guess what you've missed can we?

      A more detailed summary of steps you've taken will lead to quicker and more helpful responses.

        Good Call!

        I have had to use just the IP address due (I suppose) to DNS names not correctly resolving to the IP address, which might be due to a timeout issue or such. I just open the command line in Windows, ping the smtp server name and get a return IP, then I put that IP into the MFP settings...usually works without a hitch!

          SMTP's server IP address can change so if you can try to resolve DNS resolution.
