Taskalfa 4501i Time for Maintenence won't reset

I got one of these at a high school. We had replaced drum, dev, and fuser before the U251 counter hit its preset so it wasn't reset at the time. When message came up was just going to reset it and go by parts life and not the maint counter but even after reseting them it still says time for maint. Anyone else seen this and have a fix?

Had this with a ta-300i and did everything as you did and would not change. eventually found it to be a rather easy stet. see u209 service mode.

    906 to clear.

U209 is in reference to the Time for Maint T message. Mine is just saying Time for Maint but I'll give it a shot. Can't hurt to try.

I think if you do a 251 followed by a 906 and then reboot the copier it will fix it.

Is firmware up to date? There's an issue with older firmware that shows erroneous "Time for Maintenance" message at 300k on the count instead of 600k. I know you said you didn't reset it when you replaced your components so it shouldn't be affected in this case but in the event of some funny business with life counters vs maint counter, it's at least worth checking.

At what count were the components replaced? And it now hit 600k so you're just clearing the U251 counter and not replacing units, correct? The obvious thing to check would be U250.

I second firmware. I just had an issue with a 3501 same thing. Downloaded the latest version firmware. And it cleared it right up

You know, if you call tech support for a problem like this, the first question that will be asked is, " does the machine have the latest firmware ". Also doing any warranty work requires you to have the lastest firmware update when processing your warranty claim. It is standard to update kyocera firmware to fix many bugs and glitches. kyocera has a turbo mode version of firmware files that updates in under 5 minutes.
