fs-1118 fax - MISSING??? URGENT!!!

Hi guys, please help me... the fs-1118 is not picking up that it has a fax option. It was working fine for a few months - then missing!
It is NOT the fax unit as I have tested it on another fs-1118. And I have tested a new one also.
has anyone had this... Please reply.

I tried loading firmware today... It loaded properly, but still not picking up the fax unit!
Another strange thing I noticed is that when you print out a status page,
on the top where the model name "fs-1118" is printed in greyscale.
It is gone???

The only thing I can think of is that the main board is blown.
Anyone got any idea's?
