Re: Kyocera
We went the other way and now won't touch them. Yield issues meant they didn't make money. Even direct support from Kyo, they just ignored the evidence we obtained in service mode and blanked us. A number of larger dealers had enough weight to get some money back off Kyo but that involved non disclosure from all concerned.

Re: Kyocera
Even when Kyo themselves release a firmware that erases the toner history? Maybe things are different with their new kit but the 300/400/500/552ci machines did not achieve yield even with Kyo themselves involved.Comment

Re: Kyocera
im with jhalfhide on this one. we were Mita dealers in the early days when 3035 and the like were king . ever since Kyocera took over i agree toner yields are terrible very expensive to run ie toner prices ridiculous as are parts. the 250ci range cost us loads of money and we still stayed with them even taking on the new kit but found all the same problems plus a few extras. Konica Minolta are great for us, wouldnt touch Kyocera now.Comment

Re: Kyocera
I'll agree that their parts hit and exceed yields, but their toner was not even close when we checked it. Years of Kyo's and all their colour range would not hit yield. If we're simply missing something, why did some big time dealers get huge rebates when they confronted Kyocera with the same evidence we did? Their BW makes up for it as they just run and run.

Re: Kyocera
If you have dealer level business with kyocera, then you would have the advantage of the support, training ect. Kyocera has improved tremendously in the past couple of years especially with their colour machines. The 300ci series put some dents in their name, but their current colour and black machines are solid. They are learning from their previous products and would give some of the bigger names a run for the money. 3 yrs bumper to bumper warranty is very nice and they honour their warranty, providing the proper paper work is done. Two features i think is a big time saver, is the boot up time and the firmware update, where they have a turbo mode that only updates the files that is outdated. Their newer products has incorporated colour table profiles matching witch can emulate other manufactures colour types. Kyocera rocks, bottom line.
If you are buying used, then you will have to have some friends with kyocera support and off course here.
About the toner yeilds, don't know about that. the bosses have the figures.THE ONLY THING FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING..........edmund burkeComment

Re: Kyocera
maybe this is just a UK problem, as i notice jhalfhide is uk based as am i. i have been with Kyocera from C830 and C2630 days to the present garbage they sell and although you can only speak on a personal level i totally 100% agree with jhalfhide here. I am pleased for everyone who have had positive experiences with Kyocera but speaking for myself having stuck with them through thick and thin and living off the hope and promises that the next range will be better, we literally had to make a decision to go dual line and chose Konica Minolta. this decision was not made lightly as i think most engineers would like to stick to what they know but that said for us they have been brilliant. we lost customers through Kyocera colour machines and although the bottom range konica leave lots to be desired the mid range 22- 28 page a minute machines are second to none. lets hope in the future Kyocera can make something reliable like the best machine ever made the KM3035. it would be nice to see them have that success again. lots of good people working at Kyocera Uk.Comment
