NEW TASKalfa 306ci, FAX not coming out, asking for paper to be loaded.

Hi Guys,

Hope someone could assist.

Newly installed TA 306ci, installed a Fax system 11 in machine, lower slot as the manual says, however when ever a Fax is sent its fine, but when one is to come in, the machine asks for paper to be loaded in tray.

Work Done.

NB: Check machine Destination- OK
2. Check paper size - OK
3. Check whether is set to Inch or Metric, we use inch- OK
4. Factory reset machine with Fax installed,- Didnt work.

okay man, thanks.. I will ask the dispatcher to send me there tomorrow and have it done, i spoke with the last technician who had gone there and he told me about the issue today after work

In service mode, run u600..... fax reset

There is no U600 in that model machine. When ever the fax is installed the machine freezes up and nothing can be printed nor copy, nor enter maintenance mode. still need help

In your initial post you stated it would send (TX) and then ask for paper to be loaded when a fax is received (RX), and now you are stating that the machine will not boot up when the fax board is installed. Please clarify if it ever worked. If it was working what did you attempt that caused it to lock the entire machine up once installed.

According to the service manual there is a u600 service item. If you install the fax and the machine is not seeing the fax pwb, then the u600 mode will not be listed i believe. Open the front cover and leave it open. Then go into service mode and do the u600. If it is still not working, you may have a defective fax pwb.

Okay. I understand. I have not visit the machine as yet but the recent visit was today and it was reported that the machine will freeze, whenever a fax is being received.

Good idea to update the firmware with the latest.

firmware was also done. The Fax system was recently ordered, its brand new, so thats what got me puzzled. I am going to check back the manual and see. Welcome anymore suggestions. The other thing is, We dont have any 306ci in stock to test the fax with nor another fax system 11. Our first sale on that model

I visited the customer personal and what I found was a fax stuck in the questions whenever the fax is installed, sent a command USB and got that doc out the questions, tested left working okay. Thanks for the input guys

Alexkyocera, in your original post you said it was asking for paper to be set in the tray, do you have one of the trays set to auto? Kyocera fax systems require one tray to be set to auto to priint out incoming faxes, otherwise it will ask for paper to be set even if the proper size is in a tray, it is just the way it works.
