    KM3530 scan??

I just added print/scan boards to a KM3530 at a customers location. We have the print working but can't get the scan to work. What do I need to download for the scan? Is there a software offered by Kyocera? One of the computers has Adobe, but it can't see the scanner. Then from the copier, if we select scan to email, it gives an error about mixed originals??? I'm a Canon person normally, we load network scangear and ecopy and they work......Can someone tell me what I need to do for this Kyocera? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

does the scanner have an ip address? see if the computers can see the scanner. there you set up the scan to email/pc. you will also have to load the scanner file utility and set that up on each computer that is being scanned to. not necessary for scan to email. the scan to email is a pain. it may or may not work. it works better if the company has an internal mail server. if that doesnt work, i suggest setting up a scan to pc with the sfu. the customer then can attach the file to an email to send on.

on the sfu, you will have to make sure you set up the shared folder with full access and the sfu made an exemption made in the firewall.

I'm an idiot, didn't know you had to have two ethernet cables, 1 to print and 1 to scan......anyway I think we have it going now. Thanks for your help.

I have a customer with a 3530 that wants to scan to email. I have sold machines with the scan/print systems installed. They don't have a need for the print. Can I slide in a scanner NIC without the Print installed? Thanks...

thought those old ones came with combined print/scan, system n, ie can't have scan w/o print

Hmm, Anyone know for sure? Also, does any firmware or anything have to be updated when installing to a stand alone machine. Or is it just simply install and set the network info? I was also told that I need the battery board for scan to work. Would anyone have a PN for that board? Ive got the Nic, though. Sorry so many questions

i'm 99% sure you have to have print/scan system n. don't remember exactly what parts, but it contains more than just the scanner-nic, it's not as 'easy' as the newer xx35-series where you just mount the scanner-nic. no fw should be neccessary

You can install a scan system separately from the print system. You can install a scan system d or f from a 2050 or 6030. They will work. You will also need to order a RTC pcb from parts #3CS01010 (thats the pcb with the battery your talking about.)

all ns-30s can be used as the only difference is the price. in norway the 8030 scanner sys costs twice as much as the one for 1650. now, how's that for a budget tip?
