    Mapping Document Box

Can I map a Kyo device on the network?

I have a customer with a 5501i in a MAC environment. I connected 5 MACS to print and scan to ftp using their computer name and for some reason the scanning is not consistent, intermittent scan errors. I cant use IP addresses as most are laptops that they take off the network.

So maybe as an alternative I'll have them scan to doc box and have them retreive the files their and perhaps create a shortcut on their Desktop for them to get to the folder.

Customer not interested in scan to email, although I will connect and encourage them to do so.

Other option is Network Storage Device, but never done this yet.

A little extra cost but PinPoint scan works great on Mac and you get multiple scan options. Desktop, Folder, and email.

It will stop working all together if they upgrade to 10.11 (El Capitan). Every single one I've encountered that did it never scanned to a folder again using FTP or SMB. Pinpoint is the only way to go outside of email.

The answer to the question is no you can't map the drive on the network. You can access the Doc Boxes in a web browser and pull files.
