    Toner Waste Bottle

I was wondering if the WT-861 toner collection bottle is reusable (6000, 7000, 8000 series machines). I found that on Panasonic big machines they were but I thought I would ask about Kyoceras since I know someone out there has probably found the answer. My gut tells me the answer is no since the sensors are located high on the bottle but it don't hurt to ask.

I've emptied one out once out of desperation as they were out of stock. Never again.

Thanks for the reply. My thought process, like on the Panasonics, was to empty them and always have one handy. I have a few to be emptied here at the office so I thought why not. Over time this would save some money.

We empty and reuse them. Actually I should say my two young rookies empty them when they piss me off.

It's a messy job, I've threatened them with similar jobs a few times.

Just dont squeeze the bottle too much when you remove it unless you like breathing toner.

Actually the answer is yes! After emptying the waste toner from the collection bottle, we then wash the inside of the bottle using ordinary dish detergent. Just emptying the toner leaves enough toner dust on the inside of the bottle for the sensor to detect it as a full bottle. Washing it and then rinsing it several times does the trick. We recycle these all the time.

empty in a open air dumpster or use a toner vac, very messy job , but not too bad if you take your time and empty slowly. DONT wash empty container out , just make sure spots for sensor all clear and visable

A lot of time now on the new series machine you have to change them for some reason you can empty them out and the machine wont take the old container back you will get the message until you put in a new one
