I have a Utax 2500ci with a DP-773 Document Feeder - which is now jamming, I have looked at other threads and TB's regarding this issue - some suggest firmware and some suggest replacing parts and adding modifications.
The Problem - Jamming after passing the slit glass, which i have noticed that one of the black guides which pivot is very springy compared to the others, there are five of these guides in total on the underside of the document feeder. When I arrived the customer had one of these guides in their hand. This guide did not go back correctly i feel, so i switched its position and moved it to the middle of the document feeder, the machine will feed 6 - 7 sheets then jam in the same area just after the slit glass. The motor will try and drive a few times after it jams also. I have also tried repositioning the White Platen Cover but it seems to still jam.
I have some black guides to replace here, would you recommend the firmware also? Seems strange that the jamming has just started. Machine is only been in for the last 3 months, and has had very little work. Any feedback would be much appreciated, as i'm usually used to Konica Minolta Document feeders and the Kyocera / Utax is very new to me. HELP!!
