TASKalfa 2052ci Envelope Feeding

Greetings all.
I haven't had a lot of requests for feeding envelopes in the new series products.
I understand that envelopes can feed from the bypass as well as the cassettes according to the operation guide.
Any feedback would be appreciated as I have a new installation coming up with a 2552ci and internal finisher.
I do have one 4052ci in the field with a internal finisher but have not checked out envelope feeding.
I remember back in the day that the earlier Kyocera products would feed and sometimes wrinkle or smear the envelopes but the only feed option
back then was the bypass.

Any input greatly appreciated.

We have had no trouble running standard envelopes either thru the trays or bypass just set the type to envelopes and make sure the customer selects the desired tray with envelopes selected in the driver

Take this for what it is worth please as I've only dealt with envelope printing on Ricohs and Risos.

But keep in mind that feeding envelopes can sometimes be kind of fiddly, as most feed systems are designed to feed one thickness of paper at a time reliably, and envelopes are two to three independent thicknesses.

Manufacturer's recommended envelopes fed exactly as outlined in the user guide are usually OK (may be some accelerated roller wear in the feed area, maybe not), other types may require some experimentation or may not work acceptably at all, that's just the way it goes.

If the operators of the machines aren't patient and thoughtful, envelopes could be a bad deal too.

The newer Kyocera MFP's that I work on, run envelopes perfectly.
