FS-1128 MFP firmware issue

Greetings to all techs!

We bought four FS-1128 MFP units, all of them installed with fax cards. The problem is that each unit's software is FS-1028 MFP, and the fax is completely disabled. We have no information of what changes have been made to the firmware. Please relate if you have experience related to this issue. We would like to restore the units to the factory state (FS-1128 MFP).

You do not have a firmware issue, you have a main board issue. the main boards are different between the FS-1028 and the FS-1128. Just plugging a fax board into an FS-1028 does not change it to a FS-1128 even if the firmware is attempted to be changed. It sounds like whoever sold the units to you just added a fax card to a FS-1028 thinking it would make them a FS-1128, does not work that way. The main board needs to be changed to convert the units.
