    [Misc] Kyocera Ecosys FS-C2126+ random RTC error

    We have a 2126+ that has been installed at the customers office for more than 2 years. Last week I had to service the copier due to code 0840 appearing on the copier. The error went away after reboot and I verified the time was correct. Printed an event log and it said this error has occurred 8 times. This is the first time we have got a call about it. Also the firmware is fully up to date. I have never seen this error before, and was wondering if someone has seen this before and I'm just looking for advice.

    Is the unit running on a Windows server controlled network? Is the server time correct? Windows servers only allow for a five minute difference between the servers time and the devices time. We have had instances where the server clock was never calibrated against a time source such as time.nist.gov and had drifted way out of what the real time is. You should also remove the backup battery and clean the contacts to make sure the clock has a reliable source.
