TASKalfa 4551ci color background...???

hi,

strange one... color background on all paper weights except Heavy 1,2,3,4 settings... (on thick paper setting prints are perfect!)

what have you done to try and correct it?
what are the life % of the consumables?
how heavy is the back grounding?

What color? It is either the charge or developer unit of that color.

EVERYTHING has been changed!!! trust me... all the insides and all the boards!
all 3 colors (CMY) are about the same intensity of background...
all memory cleared back to factory defaults etc...
like I said... its only when I put it on thick paper setting that is prints properly...

You do not state what the color of the background is, it can not be all four colors as that would be black. Knowing what color the background is would help. Had one a few months ago that always produced a yellow background, changed everything only to discover that toner dusting was shorting out the charge grid creating the yellow background.
