Is anyone else experiencing power supply boards failing on the Kyocera FS-C8020/8025MFP Machines? We have had 4 go down in a week all due to the capacitor's Failing?

Re: Kyocera FS-C8020/8025 Power Supplies
Hello,
below the information kyo
The firmware is upgraded as follows V 6.07.
Corrective measures for the damage of the electrolytic capacitors on the LVU.
At the installation environment where the electric noise exceeding the rated voltage of the capacitor is repeatedly generated and repeatedly applied to the
LVU during Deep Sleep, the charge is accumulated on the electrolytic capacitors on the LVU. Then, the electrolytic capacitors might be damaged.
In case they are damaged, the main unit cannot start up.
Change: When the certain period passes since entering into Deep Sleep, the main unit recovers internally without the main unit drive to discharge the
excessive charge.Do not lament,do not mock,do not hate,but understand.

make sure to use the recent firmware, it changes the sleep behaviour so that main capacitors can't build-up excessive charge via power input spikes.Comment

Re: Kyocera FS-C8020/8025 Power Supplies
Just wanted to share..
Ordered a new power board for FS-C8520. Was pleased to notice that Kyocera has soldered some resistors between capacitor.
The firmware upgrade did not solve the problem with caps...

That's good news, a few years late but I'll take it!
Hopefully they remember to do this on all the future PS designs...Comment
