Are there any technical bulletins on this feeder concerning paper feed trouble. This feeder is on a KM 2030. The primary roller will not turn. The drive belt turns, however the leading feed joint gear fails to engage the lead pulley. Not sure what I thinking of doing to solve the problem; which is shiming out the play that appears to be in the lead pulley assembly; would be correct?

leading feed is the one on the long shaft, paper feed on the small shaft.

I think you are saying that the leading feed is turning but the paper feed is not - Giving you the problem of it not picking the paper up and pushing it into the leading feed/seperation stage.

If this is the case check the pin is still on the leading feed shaft to drive the belt properly, check to make sure that you have 2 plastic clips for each end of the paper feed shaft and check manually the operation of the doc feed unit to see how it works and logically think of how it will feed the paper in. Again go into sim and check the operation without paper. make sure the shafts are free of dirt, the paper feed roller only drives off the leading feed so if you get drive from the leading feed start looking for the drive not engaging on the paper feed gear.
