Kyocera 4035-light edges when scanned from feeder

I have a 4035 that makes excellent copies when you
copy from the glass or print to it from the network.
However when you scan from the doc-feed both sides
of the doc (1 inch in) are are very light. have tried to
adjust using sim 60 scan input and 74 doc-feed balance. Also replaced scan glass cleaned mirrors and replaced the exposure lamp. Any ideas what might be the cause. Thanks

does the "lightness" get worse as it scans? or is it pretty consistant down the edges of the page?

Thanks all for the good information on the sim u068.
I plan on going back tommorrow and give that a shot.
Is it necessary to adjust sim's 65,66,67,70 and 71?
Also do you have any idea what would cause the adjust
ment in sim 068 to change? Thanks for all the great help!
