    Copystar/Kyocera 406ci toner compatability

Precision Roller is selling Kyocera toner TK-5217 toners for use in the copystar 406ci, which takes the TK-5219 series toner.
In the past, some Copystar machines would not accept the Kyocera version of toners.

Has anyone tried this particular model Kyocera toner in the Copystar and know if it fits and reads as genuine toner?

We have not tried this particular toner. For Copystar Kyocera compatability, it would depend on how they have the RFID chip programed on the toner cartridge. Typically you can not have two different codes on the same chip. Especially for color machines we do not use generic toners as we have experienced to much toner dusting and other issues. The cost savings in using a generic will be quickly eaten up by additional service calls on the unit for copy/print quality issues.

if you are going to use generic toner in Kyocera copiers, you are asking for problems. been working on them for years and every time the boss wants to try generic toner it is a night mare. DONT DO IT!!

No one said anything about generic toner here.
It is Kyocera brand name toner being sold to fit in the Copystar version of the same machine.

I want to know if anyone has tried the Kyocera version toner in the Copystar machine. Specifically the 406ci model machine

The product codes between the Kyocera and Copystar toners are different so there might be chip issues or they are keyed differently. I noticed Precision shows out of Stock have you tried Impression Solutions ?

We Had a Copystar dealer get a huge hospital contract and we took over the service in our area. Being we are a kyocera dealer we just changed the destination mode of machine from copystar to kyocera so we dont get that toner error saying unknown toner on log.
