    TASKalfa 2551ci ticking cracking noise

    Hi guys,

I have a TASKalfa 2551ci that make some noise.
Noise is like ticking before printing and after the paper come out.
Noise is not so loud but enough to ear it, and give customer the idea of "near to failure machine".

I think about the fuser press/release.
    What do you think?

MFP is working well, simply does not sounds good.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kyove

Machine adding toner, maybe toner bottle is about empty.

Or fuser rotation noise, its hard to say with out hearing the noise.

The fuser can make noise but I think you have a fuser drive noise. It sounds like an old percolator making coffee. It comes as an assy. It's the B pack.

Order fuser and drive to be safe.

Try to run laser cleaning from maintenance mode to make sure if it is not pure cleaning laser unit procedure.

Run sim 30 you can isolate the noise by motors

Check also U135Checking the toner motor operation. I had one customer that bent one of the tabs on the toner botle causing a noise.

I agree with Kuby, is there a toner cartridge that is empty? Have you looked at the tone status? Usually clicking noises indicate an empty toner cartridge as the unit tries to add toner? Is the unit setup to stop printing/coping when toner is empty? We have had users where the unit was not setup to stop when the toner was empty continue to use the unit until even the DV was empty of toner.

for all our 2550's and 2551's, creaking noises while preparing/post print is expected. Not sure where it comes from, but I suspect fuser or developer.

Check the developing clutch (K).. most of the time,it will touch the holder housing..remove the back cover then observe this... hope this will solve your issue...
