    F245

Hey guys. I have a FS C8520 with a F245 error. Detached network cable attempted to enter Maint. Mode to clear memory, updated to latest firmware, installed special firmware as stated in a technical bulletin. Installed a new Main PWB but still cannot enter Main. Mode to clear the 0180 error. The manual suggested the sata cable may be the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When entering maintenace mode, open front or right door and try again. On this model, i would also inspect power source pwb for blown caps since it's not uncommon, and i've had F245 before due to it.

When you replaced the Main PWB did you move the EEPROM from the old main board to the new board? The 0180 code is a machine serial number mismatch that can be corrected with U004, setting the machine number. Since you replaced the main board but did not state that you ran U004 with moving the EEPROM, that is where I would Start.

these models do not have an eprom on the main pwb. Only on the engine board. my issue is that I cannot enter into maintenance mode to perform U004

We have seen this as a print error possibly caused by a corrupt data file ; usually from a WEB-BASED print job .

Kyocera has a Firmware up-grade that should correct this error.
You should also clear all print jobs sent to this printer

I just had an F247 on a TA 3550ci, the first F24x code I had ever seen. Machine was frozen, could not get into Maint Mode no matter what I did. I took a shot (least expensive shot) and replaced the HDD. My machine fired right up as normal, just had to re-do the address book for Scan.
Hope this helps you & others.....
              Happy Holidays,
              Chris

Update. It was the control panel that was the issue. Installed a working control panel with the new main PWB and I was able to enter the Maintenance Mode. I even tried the original Main PWB and it booted up normally. Thanks for your suggestions guys.
