3011i and 3212i Toners

Simple really ...... I know the cartridges are different for the 3011i and the 3212i but do they contain the same toner inside.
Two of our customers have managed to put 3011i cartridges ( TK-7105 ) into 3212i ( TK-7125 ) machines. An engineer has been in and put the correct toners in but a week later and the machines are saying " Unknown Toner Installed ".
I'm wondering if the dev units need to be emptied and re-setup with the correct toner.

If you want to know if the same toner is in the different cartridges, download the MSDS sheets for each machine and compare them. As for the unknown toner message, that is a function of the RFID chips or lack thereof on the cartridge, nothing to do with the developer.
