    CS-4035 (Falcon) Scan problem

We have a Copystar CS-4035 with a print\scan "U" system installed. It has been in service for several years with no major issues. The customer moved to a new site and we moved the machine and set it up for them. Since shortly after the move, when they try to scan, they sometimes get an unspecified system error and are directed to turn off and unplug machine. This is sporadic, and when I go to check it out, I cannot repeat the problem. It always works for me. I updated machine firmware and replaced the scanner NIC card with a different one. The next day, the problem returned. I am keeping in mind that the timing with the move may be a coincidence, but has it been anyones experience that wiring or network settings can cause this kind of an error? Anyone have any suggestions?

Are they scanning from the glass or the SRDF-2? Could be something with the Doc Feeder that's giving them the error to turn off and unplug the machine. I have seen something similar happen to a RI-3530 when using and only when using the DF-71. It would occur after stapling and punching about 8 or so multiple page double sided copies. So I'd run that doc feeder with several double sided originals until it throws in that towel.

They use the feeder for copying all the time with no error codes, including when stapling, but I will check this anyway. They are scanning to e-mail, and this brings up the possibility that they just have too many addresses listed, because they have probably 100 e-mail addresses and the machine has no hard drive. Has anyone seen the scan system error out due to too much info in the machines memory?

          Download this utility Download
set it up to scan to email. (It acts as a mail server).

You will know whether the scan problem would be server related or machine related.

With regards to the amount of names/addresses in the list. That specific model can handle up to 100 if im not mistaken, so it should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. Will try this stuff. Also, I had a suggestion from someone to try installing a machine hard drive, but don't have one in stock. Does anyone know if the Ri-4530 hard drive is compatible with the cs-4035?
