    FS-6530MFP Copy and scan margins

Hey guys, I have an FS-6530MFP that is causing some problems with only scans and copies. It looks like its cutting off about 1/2 an inch of the left side. Some stuff it doesnt affect but there are some documents that the first few letters will be cut off. Ive checked the feed rollers on the DP and paper feed system, checked the paper in the cassette its pulling from, margin and paper settings havent been changed and its only started earlier today. Any ideas?

Since you say that it is on copies and scans this narrows it down to the DP [assuming that you have made a copy off the platen and there is no shift]. Have you tried to feed the originals on the short edge? You could have a dirty clutch on the pickup-feed rollers or as I had in one case, the platen plate had been dislodged and was not properly lifting the guide plates when the DF was closed. Have you noticed any bends or nicks on the front edge of the originals? Or a skew on the copies? You could go into the service mode and adjust the leading edge timing for the DP to see if that resolves the issue.

If your margins (including lead, trail, and sides) are ok when printing internal prints, prints from a PC, prints from USB are good: it's a scan problem, not a paper feed/transport problem.

Once margins are adjusted for print engine ( internal prints, print from computer)->
then adjust margins from the glass ( copies off the glass , not doc feed )
then adjust margins when copying from the doc feed.

See the service manual for info on how to adjust.
