    KM-4035

see if you guys have had this one before

i went to work on this june 2008. it is a rental so its been replaced and i've just now gotten some down time to work on it.

when i went to work on it last year, it had a code 3100 (scanner carriage), after t/sing the thing, then it flipped a fuser code, 163 wouldnt clear it and put a new fuser in it...the machine died after a 4200 code .

so, i've put a new lsu in it..comes up fine...make about 150 copies, the machine starts to reboot itself in the middle of copies, just power off and on...continuously. i get a firmware update into it..and it still does it...any ideas on this one? Kyocera tech support off today.

The main charge isn't arcing is it? That might give you some rebooting.

        4200 is LSU/polygon motor issue.

seems the 24v is dropping when this occurs, i have a tech rep here helping me t/s this. he thinks there is something wrong in the power supply. i'll let you know what we find out.

If his last name is General he will probably find it.

yep, but arcing of high voltage from unclean charge/bad drum unit will quite often give you same error msg. on the falcon-series. had tens of those faults. best case: clean charge, worst case: change whole drum unit. have not had one bad lsu ever on those machines

Dont know if you have fixed this problem yet but the main charge needs to be replaced on the machine. If the drum is pitted then replace drum and charge and your problem will go away.
