TASKalfa 7002i - not seeing right amount of toner in cartidge

Have a 7002i that is not reading the correct amount of toner in the cartridge. New OEM cartridge and it only reads 6%? We have replaced the toner motor because it went bad and would not turn. And when copying it will not keep up with the need for toner.
