Resetting Printer to Factory settings using Prescribe
Re: Resetting Printer to Factory settings using Prescribe
Thanks for the reply.
I am trying to find a way to remove the KFS access code that is currently on the printer. I have tried re-initializing from the web-interface, i have tried the Prescribe "INIT" command, "EGRE" command. No Go. These commands look like they just reset the FRPO values to default but not reset the device to completely.
If this was an MFP, this would be very easy with U520. But this printer doesn't have an equivalent mode.

Thanks again.
This is dependent on whether it is registered to your company account or another companies account. If it is another company you will have to contact them to delete it from their account. The alternative is to contact Kyocera, prove that it is now your device and have them remove it.

Thanks
Harry,
You have still not indicated whether it is on your company's KFS account or on another company's account. If it is on your account then your company's KFS administrator can go in and delete it then download the DRDT tool to unregister the printer. If it is on another company's account you are at their mercy unless you can get Kyocera to delete it. I have taken all the training on KFS and there is no other way to remove it. I have verified this with Kyocera. They are adamant about this as a security feature.

After getting frustrated with this printer. i tried your suggestion with the DRDT tool. At first it didn't work, then i sent the "INIT" and "EGRE" commands again. once i turn it back on I was able to turn off "Remote Services".
A few months back we had a device that was on our KFS account that was returned to a leasing company. I had deleted the device from group (customer) that it was in. However, whoever bought the device from the leasing company put it on a network and the device popped up on the group that it was in originally in (real weird).
