    [Jamming] kyocera 3051i jam 4011 & 0508

    hi

i have a kyocera taskalfa 3051ci that is jamming quite often with the jam codes of mainly 4011 and occasionally 0508. seems to be jamming when duplexing.
paper seems to stop before the registration roller but does cover the reg sensor which tells me that the reg roller isnt driving the paper through. i could be wrong.

    4011
    Registration sensor stay
    jam
Registration sensor (RS) does not turn off during paper
    feed from cassette 1.

    0508
    No paper feed from
    duplex section
Registration sensor (RS) does not turn on during paper
    feed from duplex section.

i have tested the sensors in service mode all sensors within the jam codes are responding ok.
i replaced feed rollers for tray 1 also.

any kyocera experts out there that had this issue before??

    any help is appreciated.

    thanks

Couple of questions. Lets deal with one problem at a time.

    1. Is it jamming only when duplexing?
    2. If the answer to number 1 is YES, have you tried duplexing from another another paper tray?

      1. I have only seeN it jam on duplex. Simplex runs ok.
      2. I have not tried duplexing from another tray. The other tray is an a3.

i have the even log printed out should you require any more info.

event log jam code states 4011.01.88.01.03 if it helps

What I'm trying to is eliminate the paper tray as the cause of the problem. Reconfigure the other tray to same as the tray you're using and run some duplex copies. If it doesn't jam, you know the cause is related to the other tray. That's what I'd do, anyway.

This is basic troubleshooting step but in my experience will help solve such problems half of a time.

Unless I know from experience what the problem is, I always start with the basics..ala process of elimination.

Yep test another tray and see if it jams while duplexing.

Duplex Clutches in the right side conveying unit get very rusty and fail. At least Kyocera used that same clutch in multiple locations throughout the machine.

Being a 3051ci it should have the PAD DU in it already but it might not. P/N: 302K924930
Different jam code but if you are replacing the clutches you should check for the pad or have it with you since it you'll have that area torn apart anyways. Bulletin D276-2L6-0001

I went back today to test from tray 2 and it still jammed double sided. Single sided I haven’t seen jam.

i also had a registration clutch that I went back with. I replaced the registration clutch and had NO jams after that from both trays, tested over a hundred sheets double sided.

seems like the registration clutch fixed it. If it comes back in then I will definitely be in touch again.

                  thanks for the advise.
