[Error Code] ERORR: "APC Index Mismatch"

Hi. I've never had this problem before and I've had the printer some years. but I'm now getting "APC Index Mismatch" and the PC turns itself of when the error occurs. It occurs when I attempt to see print preview or try to print. Occurs with LibreOffice and Wordpad. So, if there is a driver issue, I think it must be something to do with printing. I've done a chkdsk with fix and ran sfc with fix but nothing has changed. In device manager, under events tab, I see "Device USBPRINT\KyoceraFS-1300D\6&2612f618&8&USB001 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match." Not sure if this is the root of the problem. I have re-installed the printer drivers with Kyocera Universal Installer. Thanks if you can help me fix this. Rich

Uninstall Microsoft update KB5000802 on Win10. This is a known issue that MS has not addressed.

I now see that this problem is very new and caused by a Win 10 update. I've been reading what folks have been saying and it seems it's not that easy to remove the offending update. I think it comes back because it's a security update. Rich P.S. I think a workaround might be to set printer to direct printing. EDIT: OK I set Windows Update to pause and I managed to remove KB5000802 and I can now print.

You'd be much better off installing update KB5001567 without removing KB5000802. This issue will be gone.

Hi. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is in Microsoft's ball court to proceed and offer a security update to replace KB5000802 that I have removed.

Hi. That is precisely what I attempted to do using the standalone installer. but got a message that the install is not applicable to my PC.

I don't know if update KB5001567 is Microsoft's fix for KB5000802 but it works and you don't have to worry about uninstalling any updates nor pausing updates.

Hi. So, I've not got KB5000802 un-installed, because I removed it. If I unpause, I'm wondering whether it will come back. Or maybe if it does KB5001567 will also get installed automatically. But that was an optional download last time I looked. Maybe I should go for it and unpause and see what gives.

Yes, if you unpause updates, KB5000802 will be installed again but that's not a problem if you also install KB50001567. You'll then be able to print and you're done with it for good.

it depends on which precise version of windows 10 is on the pc, there are four fixes available.
                      w10 20H2/2004 needs KB5001567
                      w10 1909/1903 needs KB5001566
                      w10 1809 needs KB1001568
w10 1803 needs KB5001565 to patch BSOD APC Index Mismatch error, and can install on top of the offending KB5000802/808

This is true. I went on a call yesterday and had to install KB5001566 because they were running a different version of Windows. Good job.
