New 3530 problem

ok still print related

within about 5 minutes of boot the printer drops into a error state
but does not give a code. and all it says is unplug and replug.

so i run sim 906 and it resets and i have 5 minutes or 1 page out of the printer status menus before it goes right back to the error

if i try and send a print job it crashes if i have one waiting in spooler it crashes

if i try to access the HDD options it crashes

so my gues is its HDD related so 2 questions
1. is it a standard HDD
2. will it work without the HDD?

Yes it will work without the HDD. Many of ours are and we routinely pull the HDD and turn on ramdisk when they go bad. If you replace it the other will just go bad shortly.

tried that and its not the HDD...

as soon as data is recived from the network it goes down

Try reflashing printer and NIC firmware before you start swapping out hardware. You might get lucky...

Just had this

Just had this last week it was a currupt print job from a mac I believe what I did was power down remove print sys. power back up again without print brd. Shutdown reinstall print sys. again, when the job starts printing again cancel it. "If you can" Or try and locate computer that sent job and cancel there. Also check for IP conflict or Subnet Mask conflict

Hi,

There is a RAM stick on the printer board, try replacing this. We have had some very strange issues caused by this RAM.

its fixed it was a corupted driver...
they did not tell me the guy accross the building could print to it fine and it was only the workstation right next to it that made it error out
