Taskalfa 3252ci drum counter reset

Is it possible to reset the drum counter to 0 on these machines? For example you rebuild the drum unit with new OPC, blade, PCR etc and want to reset the counter?

Or is there a chip available to reset these drums?

I think the drum counter is controlled by an EPROM and I'm unaware of a replacement.

There won't be any "replace drum" message on the screen if that's what you're worried about.

If drums are too expensive, just stock up on charge rollers. That's most of the quality issues. The drums last long time.

Minor quip: the drums on the 35-60 ppm devices last a long time.

The 25-32 models have been wearing out their drum surface coating prematurely quite often in my fleet, resulting in background at the page top and bottom.

Same here,

Drums for this model are rather expensive when the machine is out of warranty period - I can get a drum rebuild kit but when you fit them you get black pages unless you turn off DC Bias auto adj. this is because the drum counter is not reset.

If you know how to send a prescribe command to the unit this command should do it.


- Set printer drum PM count to zero (can set to any count).

To be honest I don't recall if I have or not. I can not test is either as I have no access to equipment since my company "downsized" due to covid over a year ago.
