Was called out to this copier for copy quality problem. Customer brought copier in from another location. Copy reminded me of the copiers that used the selenium drums where the drum had oxidized and required either polishing or replacing. I noticed that the yellow toner was empty. Parts of the copy are there then parts are light to blank. I'm probably pre-mature in asking for help on this one because I have yet to run multiple copies as well as just a black copy. However if someone would know as to what might cause this problem of incomplete copy I'd appreciate any help offered. Actually have not yet looked at copier was just shown sample of color copy. Will be looking at copier soon and will know more in area of multiple run and black copies. I believe copier was saying that yellow was low. Thanks!

It's kind of premature to answer this until you actually see the machine. How many copies on machine? First update the firmware and perform a drum refresh. Clean optics, chargers and print heads and perform calibration, auto gray and registration. More than likely you will need to perform the 300k maintenance. They usually only get to 200k before major copy quality problems. Dv units start to cake up and streak because the customer never cleans the filter on right rear side of machine. Heat builds up and causes CQ problems. Let us know what you see when you check it out.My mission here on Earth is to help all you Dum-Dums! -
the 2630 has blurred/faint/spotty print by default as the devs are not up to it. new version devs and change settings (some serious bulletins on that) help a bit, but it's still sub-average quality. should be ok on black though, and with sepfingers mounted on fuser, it actually works pretty well. but slower than roadkill, and has a tendencie of double feed from bottom paper mags.Comment
