Ran into my first U3800 error. I had heard from another tech that Kyocera's service rep told him that the ISU Unit PWB has overheated and needs to have new firmware before replacing the ISU Unit. The firmware will help to prevent the new ISU from overheating as well. I updated firmware and replaced the ISU. It worked like a charm.

We recently had this happen on a 6054ci and it took us 2 ISU units, and Kyo support told us that it might take a few units to work, 4/5 if unlucky. They also told us that keeping the first ISU frame and just replacing the board on it should work better but we had already sent the first back as it took a month to code out again. You will also need Chart A and run UMM410/411.👍 1
