Haave a new 308ci, installed last week, less than 1,000 prints on it as of today and its developed this horrendous noise, I will try and attach a recording if this site lets me, but it sounds like something is seized and plastic gears grating on other gears or something, its really loud. Any thoughts anyone, going there tomorrow. No it will not let me upload a MP4 sound file, sorry.

I certainly hope that it isn't at all related to a 308CI I have had the displeasure of dealing with: in that case it was struggling to drive it's transfer belt, and the motor mounting setup was such that the motor would physically bend/flex away from the belt gear while starting up which made an awful noise! my Galaxy S20 FE 5G camera in high frame rate mode was easily able to observe the movement while running the device with the side door open and pressing the door switch.
I tried several methods to secure the motor/drive but was ultimately unsuccessful and the account was lost. It was a high count device, which had worked hard for several years before the issue cropped up. -

Either what Sparky said or the toner supply assy ( Have never had a toner supply assy one go bad this fast but anything is possible) If it keeps asking for toner when the toner bottle is full it is the supply assy.Last edited by kuby; 05-31-2022, 10:26 PM.Comment

It was being caused by the Transfer Cleaning Unit being clogged solid with hard toner. machine has only done 1400 prints, so not sure why this has happened. Its in a clean office environment. Cleaned and Vacuumed out the cleaning unit, put belt back in and it al worked fine. Time will tell I guess.Comment
