FS-1118 scaning (smb) to server 2003

Please can someone help (in detail) I have set-up scanning to a normal workstation (I think it's xp home... or pro.) Perfect!!!

    Customer wants the following:
    - one destination for all scans. (on the server -2003) this shared folder is then picked up by all workstations via "my network places" or a shortcut to the desktop etc.

Problem is that I can't get it to scan to the server.

If you have the password, username and path all correct the only other thing stopping you from scanning to a folder on the server is the firewall, as the IT dept to lower it or allow the port from which you are scanning
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Have you set up the permissions on the shared folder. Server 2003 requires user permissions to be set up in the security tabs of the folder.

Normailly when I have to set up to Server 2003 I have to get the server Administrator to set these up, as they don't like anyone but themself setting up permissions on the system
Sorry folks, reputation removed by Just Manuals, because he's a sad little wanker

You might also want to try including the domain with the user name when you enter the information into Command Center. Like this: DOMAIN\username.

What type of error are you getting? Any error codes?
You can try accessing the Scan folder from a workstation. Click Start => Run. Type \\Server and click OK. This will open a window showing everything that is being shared on the Server. Try to access the Scan folder. If you can, then try right-clicking on a blank area in the Scan folder and select New => Text Document. This will test writing permissions.
